Telecom Wireless Product Manager

The Product Manager position provides a highly motivated individual an opportunity to develop market/product strategies and communicate product capabilities to both internal/external customers. In addition, the successful candidate will develop leading edge wireless product line expertise and participate in strategic partnerships/acquisitions decision process.

The Product Manager will report to the Director of Product Management and will be responsible for supporting wireless product line in high growth global telecommunications markets. This person must possess vision/creativity to develop winning product strategies to stay ahead of the competition and champion change by challenging the status quo in support of new ideas.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Product Manager will have the following major responsibilities:
* Product Management – manage wireless products (i.e. product roadmap, requirements, product life cycle, pricing strategy, etc.). Work closely with many organizations (R&D, Sales, System Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing, etc.) to support / enable customer specific solutions to grow business.
* Product Marketing – work together with Marketing to develop content and communicate state-of-the-art wireless solutions to both internal / external customers.
* Product Strategy - set product direction by developing product strategies, as well as analyze / recommend potential alliance partnerships.

SKILLS
The candidate must be able to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
* Product Management – Software life cycle management, experience in writing technical requirements documentations, and good presentation skills are a must.
* Telecommunications - have been working in a telecommunications organization and/or strategic consulting and obtained a wide telecommunications experience base. Experience in data communications particularly in IP edge products is required, and wireless data experience with particular focus on 3G edge products such as PDSN, HA, GGSN, and SGSN is preferred.
* Organizational – have shown the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously, work across the organization, and drive Product Management activities.
* Interpersonal - have demonstrated the ability to deal / communicate effectively with customers / partners and must be able to effectively recommend strategies.

EXPERIENCE
In order to be successful in this role, the candidate will need experience with the mobile wireless core products.
Must have at least one of the following:
* Voice over IP PLM experience
* Video over IP PLM experience
* IMS/MMD PLM experience

EDUCATION
The candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science. MBA is a plus.
