Overall Function Summary
Responsible for all phases of embedded processor developments including research, embedded processor electrical and code design, development, debug, test and documentation.
Specific Responsibilities
· Developing, debugging and testing of embedded software and hardware
· Scheduling and providing high level and detailed designs
· Documenting software and hardware design and implementation
· Developing detailed engineering specifications
· Ongoing support for released product designs
Job Knowledge
Must Have:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
· Minimum 7 years experience programming in C in embedded systems of varying scales
· Assembly programming in embedded systems an asset
· Extensive hands-on experience implementing and debugging low-level drivers
· Experience with embedded microcontrollers based on PowerPC or ARM architectures
· Experience with embedded operating systems such as vxWorks or embedded Linux
· Minimum 3 Years CPU hardware design and related FPGA development experience
· Networking protocols knowledge (TCP/IP)
· Well-developed communication and leadership skills
· Ability to self-direct, a positive proactive attitude
Nice To Have:
· Knowledge of broadcasting industry
· Experience with digital video / audio processing
· Previous experience in fast paced, deadline oriented environment
· Previous experience in large embedded projects
· High-level development experience
