The HCI interface has been optimized to work with the Microsoft Windows CE embedded protocol stack and also supports other HCI compliant Bluetooth stacks including Microsoft Windows XP. The interface allows the module to access to the full range of features available from the Bluetooth version 2.0 specification from the latest CSR BlueCore BC4 chipset.
The Laird Technologies Embedded USB Bluetooth Module is specifically designed for applications that are using an embedded USB Bluetooth stack and need a robust Bluetooth implementation to replace a conventional USB adaptor. It has been designed to cope with rugged applications utilizing a direct solder connection that allows the main electronics section to be potted or enclosed within a metal housing, exposing a high performance multilayer ceramic antenna.
The module is based on CSR’s latest BlueCore BC04 chipset, giving access to the features of the new Bluetooth Version 2.0 specification. The firmware exposes an HCI interface over a USB connection. It is compatible with all major embedded Bluetooth stacks, and has been further optimized for Microsoft's CE stack.
